Downtown Los Angeles Ltd Edition NFT

I am proud to announce that my Los Angeles image of the 6th Street Bridge is now minted and available in a very limited run of 50 NFT’s on the Ethereum blockchain. If you would like to know more about NFT’s please click here.

This black & white photograph was taken at sunset on the old 6th street bridge in late summer 2007, way before the city permitted further building of high-rises and the skyline changed forever. The last time I visited was early 2016 to grab a few final shots after it was announced the old bridge was to be demolished. The bridge, originally built in 1932 connecting Boyle Heights with the downtown Los Angeles arts district, spanned the LA river and the 101 and 5 freeways. The instantly recognizable structure was made famous worldwide in various films such as Terminator 2, Swordfish, Grease and TV shows such as Columbo, 24 and Lost. It has also appeared in countless music videos from artists like Madonna, Beck, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beastie Boys. Sadly, it was deemed seismically unstable and demolished in 2016. It was also around that time, and for the first time in over 20 years, the downtown Los Angeles skyline behind it began to change making this shot now, the quintessential image of the Los Angeles skyline.

Now, for a limited time, you can own a piece of LA history with this snapshot of the iconic skyline, just as it appeared in the films and music videos shot along this very stretch of road. For movie fans, LA natives or anyone who loves 80’s and 90’s nostalgia (any Stranger Things fans out there?) the image stirs up memories harkening back to the days when The Terminator, NWA and the Lakers ruled the world. You can own this very cool, rare piece of of LA history with one of my limited edition NFT’s Click here to purchase the NFT over on my opensea.io page. This NFT is priced at .5 Ethereum, which is currently about $880 at the time of writing however, you can also get this NFT for free when purchasing one of my prints of this image from my store (while stocks last), click here for details.
