Chernobyl 26th Anniversary photos

photocrati galleryWith the 26th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster approaching I thought it would be fun to go back through my archive of images and pic a few of my favorites out for all to see, Some of these have not been shown online before.

Its hard to believe its been almost 3 years since I last visited the zone, and 26 years since the disaster. My visits to the area had a profound effect on me and i'm still drawn to it even now when I see other peoples images and read about their experiences in the zone. I still have the urge to go back there again to see how things have changed, what else has been looted/vandalized by locals and see how the radiation shifts with weather patterns. Ukraine is an incredible country with some beautiful countryside, it seems fitting that this area can now be left alone with nature reclaiming it more and more every year.Above is a select few of the images I took in 2008 and 2009, I have also put up over 40 of them in my facebook group online for all to see. If you like the images please feel free to hit the share button on the gallery and share this work for others to see, and keep the memory of what happened and the brave people who dealt with the aftermath alive. Here is a link to the images - www.facebook.com/firesuitephotographyLet us not forget!!!
