If you're a fan of ambient and electronic music then I strongly urge you to check out this website and compilation album from French net-label Ambientaria records.

For the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl Accident,  Ambientaria has gathered many Dark Ambient artists, including famous acts such as Northaunt and Atomtrakt, for a Compilation project which is to be released on April 1st 2011. All benefits shall be reversed to Chernobyl Children International, a non-profit organisation with United Nations NGO status, in order to help people suffering from Radiation Poisoning.

Here is a trailer for the upcoming release ~

Ambientaria Records is owned and run by Valenten, who is the musician behind the Instant Pyrolysis project. Ambientaria is dedicated to the promotion of Dark Ambient music in all its forms (industrial, minimalist, ethereal, ritual…). The label has some influential ambient artists on board for the Chernobyl project and with profits going to benefit Children who were affected by the terrible events of the disaster in 1986, It is a truly worthwhile project to support.

Chernobyl Children International

The Chernobyl Children International (CCI) was established by Adi Roche in 1991 in the aftermath of the world’s worst nuclear disaster in Chernobyl in 1986. CCI is one of the leading international NGO accredited charities at the forefront of development work in Belarus & Ukraine . In over 20 years the charity has evolved its programmes to meet the development challenges of a truly long-term disaster. As a direct result of the charity’s intervention, the quality of life of thousands of children from the Chernobyl zones has been improved immeasurably.
